Anne McDevitt - C.S. Lewis Festival

This year marks the 8th year of the Festival.  It is a unique month long celebration of the works of C.S. Lewis.  This year the festival is titled Lewis and Tolkien: The Story Behind The Phenomenon.   Lewis was one of the most influential Christian writers of the 20th century.  The festival focuses on the book 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' - first graders will hear the story, 5th graders will read the book.  This year 9th grade students will read Tolkien's The Hobbit (this will also be the community read).  There have been as many as 3,000 attendees at the festival which includes collaboration with schools, the arts and civic organizations.  You can see more details about the upcoming festival at www.cslewisfestival.org.
