Club Member Steve Hajek and wife Flo volunteer to unload the Semi-Truck from Grand Rapids with food supplies for our local Manna Food Bank.

Manna is one of Petoskey Rotary-Sunrise's core projects.  In addition to financial assistance, club members volunteer manpower on a regular basis. ]]>
Organized in 1987, The Manna Food Project is a private 501(c)(3), non-profit corporation, comprising a food bank and food pantry.  Their goal is to assure that not one person in their distribution area is hungry.  As a warehouse, Manna distributes to pantries in Emmet, Charlevoix, and Antrim Counties.  Visitors to those pantries receive food products at no charge.  Manna operates through financial contributions from individuals, organizations, grants, United Way, and the volunteer efforts of many people. The Manna warehouse and offices are located between Petoskey and Harbor Springs, Michigan. The Petoskey Rotary - Sunrise Club has an on-going relationship with Manna as this is one of the core service projects our club supports.  Club members not only donate funds to support Manna, but also volunteer "manpower" for projects to assist Manna.  On an on-going basis, club members rotate shifts to help unload the semi truck filled with food from Grand Rapids twice each month.  In addition, club members have taken on construction projects at the warehouse. For more information on how you can assist Manna, contact Manna Food Project Executive Director Kathy Hart at 231-347-8852 or visit their website
